law of attraction: discovering energetic relationships

I talked about the emotional scale and how it’s a great way to measure growth, but those same emotions can work on a smaller scale as well. Reading your energy around a particular subject is a great way to clear up little resistances that crop up from time to time.

date night any night

Seb and I don’t often go on planned, formal dates so my date night outfits almost always involve some form of jeans. We’re just as happy eating pizza on the couch as we are in a nice restaurant (though I’ll never give up Gravy). Last weekend, Seb surprised me with horseback riding lessons (so fun!) and any home project that we’re collaborating on can be turned into date-night with the right attitude.

where i am: may 2019

I’m not going to lie, I’ve been struggling to write this month’s update and wanted to post it on Friday, but it took until today for the words to come. I am a generally happy and optimistic person and the last two weeks I haven’t felt like myself. Nothing in my life has changed, but all of a sudden it seemed like I couldn’t summon any of the hope + joy I normally feel. Luckily, I have the self-awareness to realize what was happening and the tools to deal with it. And today I feel a little better. I know I’m not out of the woods yet, but I feel hopeful (yay!) that things are looking up.

how to use the law of attraction to: get a new job

When most people approach law of attraction, they have an end goal in mind. Given that fact, I thought I’d do a little series of how-tos for manifesting different outcomes and up first: getting a new job. Don’t forget to check out more of my law of attraction articles here.

how to stay sane during renovations

At this point, I feel pretty skilled at living with chaos in our home. We’ve lived through flooring installation, kitchen demo, and everything in between. Of course, I totally do this to myself, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t sometimes get overwhelming. I also know that general upheaval or the idea of having to move out of the house can be a barrier to entry for some so I want to shed a little light on how I keep my sanity when we’re in the middle of home projects.

a colorful, modern wedding

Let me tell you a tale of the greatest party ever. The fact that it was the best party ever is practically a miracle because let me tell you - wedding planning was not my forte. So all of the credit goes to the people who helped put it together - namely my mom. She made decisions when I didn’t want to and organized most everything. We also had AMAZING vendors. I mean LOOK AT THOSE FLOWERS! Here’s a little bit about our day and how everything came together.

my thoughts on marriage: year 1

I don’t talk much about my relationship with Sebastian here or on social media. I am so in love with the partnership we’ve built and don’t necessarily want or need validation of our relationship. Sometimes it’s nice to have something that’s just for you. But coming up on our 1st anniversary, I wanted to cement a few of my thoughts and feelings for me to look back on later. I know that I’m not an expert on marriage by any means, but I do feel that we’re really good at being married to each other and I wanted to share my biggest takeaways from our time together thus far.

white shirt dress for spring

I put this outfit on and immediately loved the combo. It’s incredibly comfortable while still looking nice. It’s also easy to elevate with a swap of the sandals for a pair of espadrille heels or leopard flats. This black cardigan goes with just about anything, but is especially nice for this time of year when it’s not cold but not quite warm either.

a green bar cart for spring

At the moment, we have approximately 653,543,234 projects on our list for this house, but I’m doing my very best to enjoy where are right now. Part of that means making the most of what we’ve got now, including this bar cart. While I did have to move it to take these pictures (a brown background wasn’t working for me), I set up the bar cart like I always do - and this time with a green theme for spring!

my favorite hippy things

Some people call it hippy, New Age, woo-woo, or airy-fairy, but I just like to think I’m ahead of the curve. In the same way that yoga used to only be for hippies, some of the things I love some people consider to be alternative. While I do believe that the US culture is gradually starting to accept some of these concepts like crystals, sage, and tarot, you’re welcome take what you want from this list and leave the rest. The primary reason I practice some of these things is because they’re fun so if it feels fun for you, give them a try!
