As promised, here is number two in my Law of Attraction series. Check out part 1: what is law of attraction anyway here.

As a quick recap, the foundation of LOA is that ‘like attracts like.’ Everything is made up of energy and what you attract is based on your vibrational frequency. So, you need to be a vibrational match for the type of life you want to live. Let’s look at the basic principles of law of attraction as told by Abraham Hicks.

  1. Ask

We do this without thinking much about it. You took a bite of something at a potluck that you ended up spitting out. Or you tried a new spin class that you loved and would like to do again. Asking is simply expressing a preference – and no, it doesn’t have to be spoken to be a request. Asking is discovering anything you want more of.  

2. It is Given

Here’s the great thing about this step – we don’t have to do a dang thing. This is the part where the Universe conspires for our good. It puts all the pieces into place to create circumstances for you getting what you asked for.

3. Allow

Arguably the hardest part of this whole thing, but all you have to do is allow. You have to be a vibrational match to what it is that you want. This means letting go of whatever resistances you have to the thing that you want and just letting it flow to you.

Emotion is crucial to step three. Emotion tells you whether you’re on the right track. Seeking and reveling in positive emotions will raise your vibration. Resistance to something is the reason we don’t all just get what we want all of the time. Resistances can be conscious or subconscious and prevents those desires from coming to you easily. We’ll get into breaking down resistance in another post.

Negative emotions can’t necessarily be helped and you don’t want to beat yourself up when you’re having a negative reaction to something. Just #feelyourfeelings, recognize the desire to feel different feelings, and pursue that desire. You always have a choice about how you react to things. Being in a state of joy, appreciation and love about the thing you desire makes you a vibrational match to it. Try to achieve that state as often as possible.

These are the first three steps involved in creating your dreams. There are two more, but they’re a bit more complex so I’ll leave that for later. For now, take a look at what desires you have in your life and where your resistance might be. Maybe pick something easy that you don’t have much resistance to and practice your allowing.
