how to make decisions using your intuition

Most of our Western culture teaches us to look outside yourself for the right answers. Go to the college that has the best reputation. Pick the career that mentors or parents think you will excel at. When you’re struggling, ask others what they did when they were in a similar situation. Not that I think seeking advice is completely wrong, I just think we have the model a little backwards. Instead of researching and deciding for ourselves, we look at what has worked for others and make the same choices.

law of attraction: discovering energetic relationships

I talked about the emotional scale and how it’s a great way to measure growth, but those same emotions can work on a smaller scale as well. Reading your energy around a particular subject is a great way to clear up little resistances that crop up from time to time.

how to use the law of attraction to: get a new job

When most people approach law of attraction, they have an end goal in mind. Given that fact, I thought I’d do a little series of how-tos for manifesting different outcomes and up first: getting a new job. Don’t forget to check out more of my law of attraction articles here.

my favorite hippy things

Some people call it hippy, New Age, woo-woo, or airy-fairy, but I just like to think I’m ahead of the curve. In the same way that yoga used to only be for hippies, some of the things I love some people consider to be alternative. While I do believe that the US culture is gradually starting to accept some of these concepts like crystals, sage, and tarot, you’re welcome take what you want from this list and leave the rest. The primary reason I practice some of these things is because they’re fun so if it feels fun for you, give them a try!

law of attraction: feeling the feelings

If you’re new around here and haven’t seen the other articles in the LOA series, check that out here. Today I want to talk about feeling the feelings of what you want. When it comes to law of attraction, a lot of people will teach you specific methods of manifesting, but I personally don’t think there’s enough emphasis put on feeling the feelings of what you want and it’s something that’s easy to forget.

there's no "right" way

One of the things I sometimes get nervous about is that I come off as telling people how exactly to live their life. I have in the past been a very black + white person (sometimes I still am), but I’m realizing more and more that most everything is a little bit grey. I now get frustrated when people make sweeping assumptions about how something “should” be done. I don’t love the word should. And I don’t believe that there’s one right way to do anything. Here’s what I mean:

law of attraction: scarcity mentality

There’s this thing called Scarcity Mentality and I hate it because it breeds fear. It tells you that there’s only so much of something and that if someone else has what you want, there’s less of it available for you. If someone else has success, there’s less for you. If someone else has money, there’s less for you. If someone else has love, there’s less for you.

how to save a bad day

Once Wednesday rolled around, it didn’t want to cooperate. I started off the day in a decent mood, but not really my chipper self. We got a series of frustrating news about the inspections and it was one of those days where we were in constant contact with our realtor. By noon, I was thoroughly stressed out and completely out of alignment. And do you know what I did? I tried to push through. I did the one thing I know doesn’t work. I tried to keep going when things weren’t flowing. So here’s how I deal with my “bad” days.

how i beat my anxiety

I don’t write this post title lightly and I acknowledge that my levels of anxiety weren’t as bad as some. I was never medicated (though in the worst throws of it, maybe I should’ve been.) I tended to err on the side of “I’ll just deal with it” and most of the time, it didn’t severely impact the way I lived my life. That being said, it still sucked and I always tried my best to temper it. I’m not a doctor, but I’d like to share my take on how I was able to significantly decrease my anxiety. I know this won’t be the end-all-be-all for everybody, but it’s something to consider.

not sure about law of attraction? read this.

If you are a law of attraction skeptic, this one’s for you! In the past I’ve struggled with the concept of teaching others how to leverage law of attraction to manifest something specific - mostly because I didn’t have an awesome manifesting story myself. Yesterday that changed and I feel like I’d be doing you a disservice if I didn’t share it.

7 awesome self-improvement books

Obviously I’m a serious self-improvement junkie and I believe that books are some of the best value if you’re going to invest in yourself. You don’t have to spend $1000 on a course to learn some of these concepts. Of course, those courses do offer different benefits than a book, but if you’re just starting out or on a budget, here are a few of my favorite personal development books that will help you uplevel your life.

law of attraction: all about resistance

Resistance is the reason why when you decide you want something, it doesn’t magically appear in front of you immediately. In order to receive something, you have to be a vibrational match to it and if you have resistance around it, you aren’t going to match. So resistance is when your subconscious thoughts are contrary to what you want. If you want one thing, but you expect something different, you’re going to get exactly what you expect. A lot of times, what people expect is not necessarily what they want.

developing emotional responsibility

Feelings are hard. Recently though, I’ve realized how different my emotions and mood swings are than they used to be. I used to cry at the drop of a hat. Not that something sappy doesn’t still make me teary, but I don’t cry anymore just because I’m frustrated, angry, or took a wrong turn on the way home. Once you have a handle on what’s going on with your emotions, you can decide how to deal with them. A really awesome side effect of this is that you come to understand that other people’s feelings are not your own and are not your responsibility.

how to beat the winter blues

Every year around this time I get in a funk. Seasonal Affective Disorder in full swing. This year it’s a self-doubt/lack of inspiration type funk. The good news is, I recognized it almost immediately and made a plan to start tackling it. I’ve already seen an uptick in my mood and outlook, so here are my best recommendations on beating the winter blues.

the power of visualizations

There are tons of high performers who swear by visualizations as part of their success - professional athletes, business titans, entertainers, etc. There is so much power in seeing yourself doing something. It retrains your brain to believe and expect it to be true. It makes it much less of a leap to get from here to there, thereby giving you more drive and willingness to persevere because it doesn’t seem quite as hard as it might have.
